The heart of Gyumri
The Holy Saviour Church — Surb Amenaprkich — stands on the central square of Gyumri, the main city of Armenia's Shirak region. A monumental 19th-century church built from the warm local stone, it is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks and a listed cultural heritage monument of Armenia. Its scale and symmetry make it the visual anchor of Gyumri's historic center.

Endurance and renewal
The church was severely damaged in the devastating 1988 Spitak earthquake and has since been the focus of long restoration.
