Arevshat is a small village in Shirak Province, in the Artik district, on the bank of the Mantash river. It lies about 23 kilometres southeast of Gyumri, at roughly 1,900 metres above sea level.

Arevshat is a small village in Shirak Province, in the Artik district, on the bank of the Mantash river. It lies about 23 kilometres southeast of Gyumri, at roughly 1,900 metres above sea level.
Arevshat sits in northern Armenia, at the edge of Shirak's wide upland fields. Its families resettled here in 1828–1830, coming from the villages of Bvik and Jamushlu near Kars, along with Sarighamish and Karin. Ever since, the village has lived off the land: people work in field farming and livestock raising, and in earlier years they also grew tobacco and sugar beet.
Arevshat's main landmark is a church from the 14th–15th centuries, renovated in 1873; nearby stand the chapels of Karmir Avetaran (the Red Gospel), Soloyents surb and Marineents surb. Today around 1,917 people live here, and the village rewards a stop for its quiet, the views over the Shirak plateau, and old stone that still remembers the settlers from Kars.
