What is this place
Hatis is a village in Kotayk Province, at the foot of the extinct volcano Hatis, high in the mountains of the region.
Above the village of Hatis rises Mount Hatis — a long-extinct volcano, one of the notable peaks of Kotayk. The village lies on its slopes, among mountain meadows, at a great height.
Life here goes by the land and livestock; in summer the slopes of Hatis hold meadows and pastures, in winter they lie under snow. The air is clean and thin, and views open onto the distant ranges.
